At Ocularis: Le Cinema, C'est Moi - Langlois and the Cinematheque Francaise

Ocularis will be showing two documentaries that pay tribute to Henri Langlois, the legendary founder of the Cinematheque Francaise in Paris. Charismatic, brilliant, and temperamental, Langlois was an early champion of film preservation and established the film library and screening room that would influence generations of cinephiles and filmmakers including Jean-Luc Godard, Alain Resnais, Francois Truffaut, and Jacques Rivette. Citizen Langlois documents his remarkable career in interviews, film excerpts, and archival footage. In Langlois, the man himself leads a tour of Paris, his home, and the Cinematheque, with appearances by Catherine Deneuve, Lillian Gish, and others. Work Includes: Citizen Langlois, Edgardo Cozarinsky. 1995, 65 min., Langlois, Roberto Guerra and Eila Hershon. 1973, 60 min.
